Summary: Very much a vintage hotel experience. I had an excellent mountain view, which I was able to enjoy from bed every morning. The cleaning crew were efficient and very good. The staff was very helpful with planning alternative hikes. I chose to walk the 800m from the train station, which for me was very doable. However, I am very fit and this may not be an option for everyone. The breakfast buffet was very good. I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Nico's, which was excellent. It was my best dining experience in Kandersteg and during my stay in Switzerland. The spa was small, but clean and very relaxing. I highly recommend staying here and would absolutely re-visit if I come back to Switzerland.
