Good Feeling Me - retreat at the foot of the Bavarian and Tyrolean Alps | Ski Chalet in Oberaudorf

As architects, we always wanted to build a small house by our own desires, a place to relax and retreat. Some time ago we had to acquire the good fortune a unique property directly on Auerbach.

Et voilá.

Your stay here can serve as a retreat where you refuel and gather new strength, find inspiration for new ideas or as a starting point to experience the mountain on skis or on foot. By entering the house, the break begins. When you open the front door you can feel the massive wood, the clay can feel the special indoor climate. Slowing far away from home, enjoy time for reading, cooking, contemplation, listening to music and nature.

Our house is ideal for 2 people. It offers a comfortable double bed (180 x 200 m), two additional mattresses for sleeping on the gallery. Except in WC are in the house without doors, all rooms are open to each other and offer views into nature.

On arrival, the ingredients for a first welcome meal are available for free.

The tap water in Niederaudorf comes from the local source Haslach Ried directing and has the best tap water quality. In our house Grander water flows.

* kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped, there is an induction hob with Teppan Yaki Grill and integrated downdraft, a steam oven, a fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. All units are of Gaggenau.
Coffeemaker
For coffee lovers, there is a Siebträgermaschine Rocket Cellini with separate grinder and hot water for tea, also a small Nespresso machine.

*Media
The house has free Wi-Fi, a hi-fi system of T + A with headphones from B & O, a B & O television with AppleTV and DVD player and an iPod to control televisions and lighting, listen to music or watch movies. Of course, you can connect its own Apple device via cable to a stereo system or stream it to the AppleTV.

* Bad
All fittings are of Vola, in the gallery is a freestanding bath from Agape, with view of the sky. A generous walk-in shower with overhead and hand shower is available as well as a towel warmer.
Towels and sheets are provided by us, a quality welcome kit for shower gel and body lotion is available.

* stove
Firewood and lighter for the stove are available.

* Furniture, lighting
It include select furniture by Cassina, Fritz Hansen, Vitra and Montana on site. We have incorporated lamps Occhio, Ingo Maurer, Flos, & Tradition, Lumina, Davide Groppi, Viabizzuno and Cattelani & Smith.
Laundry, cleaning

* There is a washing machine with integrated dryer.
For quick cleaning, there is a Dyson vacuum cleaner battery.
The house is 13 x 4 m, the areas kitchen with dining, living and sleeping are openly connected by stairs together, each offset by half floor. We have chosen a massive wooden structure of the outer walls and the roof. In addition, inside a heavy clay wall was still up as storage mass. The wooden parts were all prefabricated to size, the clay gives the house the natural indoor climate.

* Input / garage (level 0)
You enter the house through the heavy front door made of wood, here is enough space for the clothes, your outdoor equipment, bicycles or even the car. When the door is open can be gewerkelt or celebrated.

* Cooking with children (Level 1)
This space can be opened in the summer on the large folding sliding doors on both sides and be extended beyond the two free-hanging terraces in the garden. Through the huge glass you sit quasi outdoors, if required, the opaque curtains provide protection.

* Living Room (Level 2)
Here the retreat for listening to music, films View, see Reading and in's fire and the mountains. The large picture window looks out directly on the Spitzstein, in any weather. The stove spreads its heat, soothing crackle and the smell of wood throughout the house.

* Sleeping and bathroom (Level 3)
From the bed you look directly into the Auerbach can enjoy the sun at late afternoon and has two reasonable LED reading lights. The bathroom is separated over the cabinet from the sleeping area. As in a boat you enter here over a threshold the toilet and walk-in shower. The toilet was designed by an artist friend.

* Wellness and sleep (Level 4)
Here on the small gallery above the living room is the free-standing bath with view of the sky, complemented with a cozy reading corner as a resting zone after a hot bath and a long hike. Alternatively, two mattress beds can be set up here.

* garden
The garden may be shared and is ideal for barbecues and relaxing. Over the garden gate you are right on Auerbach, in summer with its wonderful Badegumpen, in winter often enchants in an icy landscape. In planning for the future is a small garden sauna.

* Energy Concept
The photovoltaic system on the roof picks up the brick format. It produces more electricity than the house consumes. Our house, so the neighboring house with electricity and heat mitversorgen. The heat pump collects the excess heat in two large buffers. On cloudy days we get 100% green electricity from the hydroelectric power station of the nearby Inn barrage.

* Heating, Ventilation
The house is heated with a wall heating, in the bathroom there is an additional floor heating. An automatic ventilation control with heat recovery supplies the house at any time with fresh air, controlled fully automatically by built-in sensors.

* Control, energy consumption
The lighting in the house is operated conventionally via the switches. Behind this is a modern bus system, that allows an easy control via a panel / iPad. All circuits in the house are counted and displayed, so you have the opportunity to develop a sense of the power consumption.

* Oberaudorf
located at the southern border of Upper Bavaria, just before the border to Austria / Tyrol, away 8 km from Kufstein.

* Arriving by car
On the A8 Munich-Salzburg motorway, turn onto the A93 at Inntaldreieck direction Italy / Austria. Leave the motorway in Oberaudorf, from there it is a few minutes to Reisach.

* Travellers from Italy / Austria come on the Austrian part of the A12 motorway to Germany on the A93 and leave the motorway after the second exit in Oberaudorf.

* Arriving by plane / train
The nearest airports are Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg. From any airport there is a direct train connection to Oberaudorf.

The train station in Oberaudorf is within walking distance 10 minutes from the house, on request we can arrange a pick up or put the Defender at the station.
